Ziva Kumar

Hey! My name is Ziva and I am the Editor in Chief of Youth Social! I love watching movies, some of my (many) favorites include Cars, The Art of Racing in the Rain, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Little Women. In my free time I also bake, read, listen to music, spend time with my loved ones, beat my family at board games and play with my dog Pojo. I started Youth Social because I have many peers with intriguing political opinions and important things to say but no platform to share them on. This community paired with my writing experiences and desire to do more than donate to causes I support culminated in the beginnings of Youth Social Magazine. Stay tuned because we are just getting started!

My name is Rhea and I’m a staff writer for Youth Social who specializes in poetry! I’m a local coffee addict who loves to make origami, play piano, bake, and write my feelings in my free time. I joined Youth Social because I value awareness, teen initiative, and youth advocacy especially surrounding politics and current events.

I am very interested in the humanities, particularly history! In my free time, I enjoy reading and watching interesting documentaries, old movies, and comedy shows. I am a part of Youth Social because I closely follow politics and world events that I want to help spread awareness about, especially to younger generations.

Hi I’m Nox! I do a lot of art and design. I enjoy listening to music, filmmaking, debate, and interviewing people about their perspective on the world. I joined Youth Social because I believe it is pivotal to show and talk about what is happening in the world, and to try and make a difference.

I'm Tiyana, a 15 year old series binge watcher, currently in my first year of A-levels with absolutely no clue of what I want to do with my life. My favourite pastimes include singing, listening to music, watching movies - especially sitcoms, reading rom-coms, making paper flowers, taking videos of fun memories and sleeping. Teaching kids and helping out in local NGO's makes me happy always. I decided to join this magazine as I really like editing and making reels. My primary role on the team is making reels and posting videos on the page.

Hi, I’m Katie! I’m a staff writer from North Carolina and I’m super excited to be part of the Youth Social team. I love both nonfiction and creative writing, and the same applies to reading. I’m passionate about sociopolitical issues (especially intersectional feminism) and current events, and I joined Youth Social to amplify these interests and help educate others. In my free time, I also enjoy embroidery, cuddling with my cats, spending time with my favorite people, baking, and being in nature.

Hi! I am Karina, I'm 15 and I am a content creator for Youth Social. I love to listen to music, play piano, chess, and tennis, as well as create video diaries, and watch shows in my free time! Some of my favorite artists right now are Taylor Swift, Laufey, Clairo, and The Marías. I also really enjoy volunteering and community service! One reason I joined Youth Social is because I wanted to get more involved in activism while getting to do what I love! I can't wait to see what the future holds!
